BHG Successfully Held IADS Summer Conference
The 50th IADS (International Association of Department Stores) Summer Conference was held in Beijing on May 21-22 by Beijing Hualian Group. In attendance were over 30 leading global retailers that have industry influence in Asia, Europe and North America. The fact Beijing was selected as host city of the event reflects IADS’ attention to a fast-growing Asian and especially the Chinese market. In the 1.5-day conference, delegates discussed strategies and experience in tackling the world financial crisis, visited store, and learned about Chinese culture. Many speakers gave fabulous presentations such as “ The Way of Chinese Thinking “ by Professor Xianglong Zhang, the Institute of Foreign Philosophy, Beijing University; “How to win in today’s economy” by Leonard Lauder, Chairman of Estee Lauder Inc; “Cultural Understanding of “The China Market” for high end consumption and much more ” by Andrew Wu, LVMH Group Director for China and “The Chinese Market within the context for the current global economic crisis and BHG’s Strategies” by Ji Xiao An, Chairman of Beijing Hualian Group. These presentations were very well received by the delegates.
After the conference was over, delegates expressed their consent for the event, organization and conference logistics. The General Secretary of IADS and ACI sent their Thank-You Letters expressing sincere thanks for the efforts BHG took to organize the event.
